The Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF) is dedicated to securing a future for all giraffe populations in the wild. We’ve been actively working to protect giraffe in the wild since 2009.
World Giraffe Day is a day for everyone to celebrate this iconic creature and help make that future a reality.

Our World Giraffe Day online event takes place on social media and is an opportunity for people everywhere to learn about, share, and celebrate giraffe. Get notified the day of the event so that you can help raise awareness by taking over social media with our online campaign to save giraffe.
- A few days before the event, we'll send a small selection of giraffe photos and artwork designed for World Giraffe Day 2024 and chosen just for you. You can use the images to participate in our online social media take over on World Giraffe Day, as well as other personal use (desktop wallpaper on a computer or smartphone, for example).
- On June 21st, World Giraffe Day, we'll send a second email with one-click links to share the photos, as well as our campaign hashtags so you can help raise awareness on social media.
That’s it! It’s 100% free and the artwork and photos are yours to share and keep forever. By sharing the photos on World Giraffe Day, you’ll help save giraffe in the wild and spread the word about the Silent Extinction happening to giraffe across Africa.

Who is GCF?
The Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF) is the only NGO in the world that concentrates solely on the conservation and management of giraffe in the wild throughout Africa.
Our Process
Partnerships are at the core of our conservation approach. We work with African governments and agencies, other conservation organisations, academic institutions and local people. These partnerships have enabled us to have a powerful impact on over 100 million acres of giraffe habitat.
Our Success
Our Translocation Program is just one of many giraffe conservation actions and a proven success as we are actively bringing giraffe back into areas where they originally reigned.
